Amid Lebanon’s ongoing systemic, economic, financial, and social challenges, WAD has been committed to supporting schoolchildren and their mothers by alleviating psychological stress. Through fine art, drama, and music therapy sessions for children, alongside psychosocial support sessions for mothers, the project has aimed to foster emotional well-being.

Following its success in 2024 at Mar Elias Btina School, WAD extended the initiative to Saint Mary’s Orthodox College (SMOC) in 2025, incorporating Drama Therapy for 16-year-olds in addition to Art and Music Therapy for children aged 9-11. As this phase of the project reaches its conclusion, WAD reflects on its impact and remains dedicated to advocating for mental health support within the community.

Below are some pictures of WAD’s workshops in 2024 at Mar Elias Btina high School in Beirut.

As for the mothers, they have also participated in psychosocial support sessions in order to help them manage the stressors of daily life. These sessions provide self-care techniques, somatic practice, cognitive therapy skills, as well as advice on how to be there for their children in times of distress.

Here below are some images of past workshops focused on Women Empowerment that WAD has conducted over the past years since its start in 2009.
