Maha Milki

FOUNDing president
 

Maha holds a B.S. degree in Agriculture Engineering from the American University of Beirut. After 13 years as Head of the Public Gardens Department at the Municipality of Beirut, she has taken the role of Head of Public Relations. Concurrently, she has been the Coordinator of the Women’s Program of the Middle East Council of Churches for the past 14 years. She has served as a member of the Working Group on Women with the World Council of Churches representing the Middle East region. She has organized, implemented and supervised hundreds of workshops, conferences and activities related to women’s issues at the local, regional and international levels. These issues relate to building awareness about the empowerment of women through realizing their rights and potentials, as well as about gender issues, domestic violence and leadership training, all targeted to helping women play active roles in their communities.

 

Layla Tabchoury Nimah, Ph.D.

Dr Nimah has served as a special advisor to the president of the Lebanese American University (LAU). She holds a doctorate in Physics from Utah State University and a graduate degree in Mathmatics from the University of Paris. For fifteen years, she has also been Vice President of student Affairs at LAU. She has been a member of the Executive Committee of the National Commission for Lebanese Women (NCLW) and its general secretary. Dr. Nimah is still a member of NCLW working on different committees. She has been involved in planning programs on women empowerment, capacity building, literacy, violence against women, health awareness, micro-credits and many others. Throughout LAU, she has brought the United Nation Program, Global Classrooms to Lebanon. It aims at instilling in students the language of dialogue in order to initiate them to the rich and enriching world of diversity to teach them the acceptance of the other.

 

Laura Abdalla Rizk

Mrs. Rizk is currently the principal of College Saint Elie Btina in Beirut. Prior to this role, she has been Beirut Annunciation Orthodox College. She has taught Science for students from Grade 9 till 12 as well as Physiology for students in the Sophomore class. She has also undertaken training and development as the Head of the Training and Development Department at Beirut Orthodox Schools, in addition to administrative work as Director for academic and non-academic departments. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Masters of Science in Physiology from the American University of Beirut. She has been a member of the YWCA since the 80s where she has participated in many training and workshops on the topic of leadership. She is a member of the WDOP (as secretary for the committee) and a member at WAD (as financial officer). Mrs. Rizk has published many articles in her fields of study.

 

Fr. Boulos Wehbe

Fr. Boulos Wehbe is the parish priest of the Sts. Michael and Gabriel Church in Mazraa-Beirut. He is a Senior Lecturer at the renowned Notre Dame University (NDU) in Lebanon and at St. George University of Beirut.
He is a coordinator of the Joint Christian Education Committee in Lebanon as well as a former longtime member of the ‘World Vision Lebanon” Advisory Council.
He is also a founding member of the Lebanese Association of Sociology. He has been a TV and media presenter since the beginning of his professional life. Fr. Boulos is active in Ecumenical and Muslim-Christian Dialogue and is a collaborator with the Middle East Council of Churches and other similar organizations.

 

Lynn Farah

Board Member

Lynn Farah is a Teaching Professor at the Information and Operations Management Department of ESCP Europe Paris campus. After obtaining a BSc in Mathematics and a Master of Mathematics Education from the American University of Beirut (AUB), Lynn moved to Paris where she completed a PhD in Mathematics Education (Didactique des Mathématiques) at Paris 7 Denis-Diderot University. Her doctoral research focused on the personal work in mathematics of students enrolled in French business school preparatory classes (CPGE). Lynn has been teaching mathematics and statistics for many years in several higher education institutions in France and Lebanon. She has also worked extensively on designing educational resources and curricula for different programs, including digital learning tools, and was involved in educational development projects.
